Whose son are you?

Is it God or is it the devil?

Welcome back family and friends!

We are thankful to be back from our altered gathering the week before last, to share last weekends video!  God has shown us so much grace and love, that He enabled us all to gather alongside other brothers and sisters to listen to a very wonderful group called "High Road".  They sang beautifully too, and shared great testimonies of how the Lord has worked in their lives, bringing them to where they are today.  We encourage you to visit their website or if you have their CD's, they are worth a listen for sure!  As always, before we begin our day or activities, or end them both...let's start with giving thanks to the Lord, for He is good!  He is our rock in times of trouble, He is our assurance in times of doubt and worry.  He is all sufficient in Word, Power and Deed and is everything we could ever hope for or need.  Praise always goes to Jesus our Lord, amen?

Our gathering on Saturday was wonderful, we had some great testimonies, poetry and song!  We had solid biblical preaching as Pastor Scott continued in his series in the Gospel of John, our verses for the night were John 8:30-38.  Pastor took us through the interaction with our Lord Jesus as He taught in the Temple and spoke between the differing groups of people (believers and non believers).  This time we see, as the title of today's blog grabs your focus...who the Father of the believing is and who the father of the unbelieving is as Jesus addressed those in the crowd.  To put it sharply as our Lord did, your father is either God or the devil...there is no other spiritual father.  That in itself often takes people aback...hard to take isn't it?  It is true as it can be though!  As pastor Scott continues, he covers how the naysayers even went so far as to say they have never been anyone's slave (after Jesus pointed out those that serve sin are slaves to it), when at that moment they were under Roman rule!  Needless to say brothers and sisters, it is just as our Lord said, those who serve sin are slaves to it...and only the Son can set you free. (A reference to Himself)

In this world, only Christians can truly know freedom.  Those who are in their sins, they are free to "pick their poison" so to say, simply meaning they are free to sin this way or that way.  However, those who are in Christ are now free to serve righteousness!  The choice to serve righteousness...to serve the Lord is simply not there to those who are living in their sins, for the flesh cannot obey the law of God!  Friends, in a single day there are 1,440 minutes (86,400 seconds)...how many of those are we using for God?  If we have time to eat, we most surely have time to eat of the bread of life!  So please, as those precious minutes tick down, use them for the Lord more and more.  Use them to tell others of the Lord, it's not enough to know about God, you must know Him intimately as a son knows his Father or daughter knows her Mother.

There is a peace that can be found in the midst of a chaotic world, and it's only through knowing Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.  Follow Him, for all other roads you follow will only lead off a cliff to certain death.  Visit us online, in person or contact us in either fashion! We always look forward to hearing how Christ has brought you home, how He has set you free!

Until we meet again, let's go serve our King!
