Where is our delight?

FRF Web • April 27, 2023

Our delight is in the Lord and His Word!

Welcome brothers and sisters!

Praise the Lord for He is good!  It is a blessed thing indeed to have such amazing access to the Word of God in our day and age.  In a moments notice, we can pull up and search through all the scriptures in a matter of seconds right from our pocket...any place we are!  That kind of access however, may lead us to take it for granted rather than the amazing gift it is.  So today, let us find our delight and joy in the statutes of our Lord amen?

Saturday night was a wonderful time of worship, fellowship and testimony...wow was it ever a great testimony night!  The saving grace and power of our Lord Jesus Christ never leaves us without amazement amen?  Please, definitely watch the testimonies from this week and bring yours along for next!  Pastor Scott faithfully took us through Psalm 119 for the evening, not the entire psalm mind you, but we really focused on the importance of dwelling and meditating upon the very word of God, our lives changed by doing this very thing.  With the world we live in so easily able to keep our eyes and thoughts distracted to other things, we must take the time to focus ourselves on what God has revealed in His Word.  2nd Peter 1:3 tells us this:

His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to[a] his own glory and excellence,[b].

This is something we ought to remember when reading His word, for God has revealed Himself in it.  How can we escape this world's treacherous ways?  By turning to the Lord in Faith, daily spending time in His Word...it is Christ alone that can change us.  There is no amount of programs, and self helps or anything else of that nature that can produce true change in the very heart and soul of mankind....that alone is done by God.  We do have a responsibility to heed the very call of Him who called us though!

Brothers and sisters, we urge you this week to watch the sermon we have to share and as always welcome you to come and testify of the great work Christ has done in your life to bring you to salvation.  And don't be shy in sharing it with others, we need to share the Gospel with everyone...praying that the Lord would grant them ears that hear and a heart that would soften to receive it.  Before salvation, we are all dead in our sins and trespasses.  Certainly we have all heard the analogy that we are dying, drowning out at sea and God throws us a life preserver...we just have to grab it?  Brothers and sisters...dead men don't grab!  When God saves us, we need to run fast as we can into His merciful arms!  So let's share the gospel together amen?

We hope to see you next week in person, we care and love you all!
