The Mind of Christ

FRF Web • March 23, 2023

Set free from worldly thinking!

Welcome back brothers and sisters!

Today is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it! - Psalm 118:24

That verse endures forever you know.  But it's not just that verse, the word of the Lord (All of His Word) endures forever.  The grass withers, the flower fades, but the Word of our God endures forever! - Isaiah 40:8.  Knowing these very things is what gives our heart and mind that enduring hope, that relational knowledge of God, for we have been give the mind of Christ!  Now...what's that mean exactly? Simply stated...there is nothing simple that it can be boiled down to!  It's an entirely new way of life, because we live by His very Spirit that dwells within us.  We are able to discern that good will of God, walk in it, enjoy it and grow ever closer to Jesus!  That's incredible when we really think about it, for we are no longer enslaved by the worldly thinking that has us stinking of death!

Our sermon for the weekend was precisely upon this very thing, 1st Corinthians 2:10-16, and as Pastor Scott faithfully delivers God's Word upon this...brothers and sisters, enemies...everyone is encouraged to watch, listen, share and meditate upon God's Word!  Even after being saved for some time now, a day does not go by that i'm not still enamored and enthralled by His Word, every single day I get to learn more and grow closer to Him.  A relationship that we can all have when we humble ourselves, confess our sins to Him and call out to Him, knowing that we are morally bankrupt on our own.  The bible teaches that there is no one good, no not one, no one righteous, no one who seeks after God....why is that?  We are born sinners, born at enmity with God and the very person who can save us is the very one we try so hard to escape from.  However, God is rich in mercy, rich in lovingkindness and He delights in saving lost sinners who recognize their need for Jesus!  Having the mind of Christ is a gift we often overlook, and one that is absolutely irreplaceable and one we all need.  So my friends, we urge you to come and share time in worship with us, sitting under God's Word in tutelage, let's grow in the Spirit together and share the Gospel together!

Please come on out each Saturday at 7pm for worship, fellowship and a meal afterword.  You are invited to bring your testimony and let everyone know just how great the Lord is by testifying of His saving grace in your life.  Let's all glorify Him together!  Each Tuesday morning from 8-930am there is a Men's bible study, Wednesday's at 630pm is prayer meeting and on Fridays from 630pm til 830pm we have a men's Christian leadership class.  While we offer all of these things, one major thing we want you all to know is that we are here for you to help you along in your Christian walk.  We care about your spiritual needs, and love to share the love of Christ with everyone.   We hope to see you soon and remember...until we meet again, let's go serve our King!
