Welcome brothers and sisters!
We are glad to share the next video as Pastor Scott takes us through Hebrews 12:1-2. We pray you check all things according to the scriptures and be sure to share the good news wherever you may be. Our time is here is short, the distance we run is long, so let us run that great race of endurance and faith together.
Hebrews 12:1-2 is one of the most inspiring passages in the Bible. It tells us how to run the race of faith with perseverance and joy, following the example of Jesus, who is the author and finisher of our faith. Let’s take a closer look at what this passage teaches us.
We are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses
The first thing we need to know is that we are not alone in this race. We are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses, who are the heroes of faith mentioned in Hebrews 11. They are the people who trusted God and obeyed His will, even when they faced trials, temptations, and persecutions. They are the people who lived by faith and not by sight, who looked forward to the heavenly city and the eternal reward. They are the people who finished their race well and received God’s commendation.
These witnesses are not just spectators, but encouragers. They are not watching us from heaven, but testifying to us from history. They are telling us that God is faithful, that His promises are true, that His grace is sufficient, that His power is made perfect in weakness.
