The Blessing of Forgiveness

FRF Web • May 30, 2024

The Joy that is without end

Welcome brothers and sisters!

We are honored to be able to share such great news with you, and that news is that Jesus Christ has come as promised, living the life that we could not, willingly laid down His life on our behalf to pay the debt from sin we owe God, taking the penalty due us unto Himself...then 3 days later, rose from the grave and rewarded us who believe with His reward!  Eternal life comes only from knowing the Lord Jesus Christ, there is no other way to God our Father!  Jesus did it all, paid it all and when He said "Tetelestai (It is finished)" He certainly meant it.

There is profound joy in the blessing of God's forgiveness, and we encourage you to watch and share the next sermon from Pastor Scott on that very subject out of Psalm 32.  We encourage you to go over notes, everything that is said...always, according to the scriptures.  Then we encourage you to share it!  The Gospel is the greatest news ever given, and it should be shared with all freely.

As we continue moving forward and building up our church in it's new location, we want to say thank you to the Lord for bringing us to where we are, and to you all for standing with us in all of this.  We share the same desire to see God glorified and souls saved, and to be part of what God is doing is an amazing gift.  We hope to see you all next week, Saturday starting at 7pm for worship, fellowship and a meal afterward!

The Joy of Forgiveness

Psalm 32 is attributed to David and is a contemplative reflection on forgiveness and the joy it brings. Here are the key verses:

1. Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven:

  • When we experience forgiveness, our burdens are lifted, and our sins are covered.
  • The weight of guilt no longer oppresses us.

2. No deceit in the spirit:

  • True blessedness lies in a heart without deceit.
  • Honesty and openness before God lead to freedom.

3. Acknowledging sin and confession:

  • David confesses his sin to the Lord, refusing to cover it up.
  • God’s response? Forgiveness and release from guilt.

4. God as our hiding place:

  • In times of trouble, God is our refuge.
  • He surrounds us with songs of deliverance.

5. Instruction and guidance:

  • God promises to instruct and teach us.
  • His loving eye watches over us, guiding our steps.

6. Trust in the Lord’s unfailing love:

  • Despite the woes of the wicked, those who trust in the Lord are enveloped in His love.

Reflection:

Psalm 32 reminds us that forgiveness is a gateway to joy. Let us rejoice in God’s mercy, confess our sins, and find refuge in Him.

Until we meet again, lets go serve our King!
