Living and forever, our Hope never dies...

Welcome brothers and sisters!

We are thankful to share the first night in our temporary location with everyone on Saturday night, and hope to see many more.  Let us continue to praise and worship the Lord for the great and mighty acts He continues to pour out before our eyes.  Pastor Scott finished up in 1st Thessalonians 4 on Saturday night, and the topic was one of such wondrous hope!  We invite you to watch, share and invite others to meet the Lord through His Word.  Join us in 1st Thess 4:13-18 in today's sermon as we learn of the hope that the Apostle Paul gives the church about those who have died before Christ's return and for those who are still alive.

The passage begins with Paul addressing the Thessalonians’ concerns about the fate of their loved ones who have died. He assures them that they should not grieve like those who have no hope, for those who have died in Christ will be raised to life again when Jesus returns. In fact, those who are still alive at that time will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.

This passage is often referred to as the “rapture” and has been the subject of much debate and speculation over the years. However, the main point of the passage is not to provide a detailed description of the end times, but rather to offer comfort and hope to those who have lost loved ones. Paul encourages the Thessalonians to take comfort in the fact that their loved ones are not lost forever, but will be reunited with them when Jesus returns.

In conclusion, 1st Thessalonians 4:13-18 is a powerful reminder of the hope that we have in Christ. It reminds us that death is not the end, but rather a temporary separation from our loved ones who have gone before us. As believers, we can take comfort in the fact that we will one day be reunited with them in the presence of our Lord and Savior.

We always remind everyone to check everything through the lens of the scriptures, for they are the very lamp that lights our path.  In ancient times an oil lamp only let you see about 6ft in front of you, so when the psalmist says that the Word of God is a lamp unto our feet and light unto our path, it's a reminder that we are to be so close to the Lord that we watch our steps one at a time that He guides each one.  We hope to see you next week and until we meet again, lets go serve our King!
